National ID Card
So, I read somewhere that there was a new bill passed by the Senate today that gives troops in the Middle East aid needed to keep on fighting. $82 billion to be exact. That's not the big problem. A certain Congressman decided to add a bill to it that creates a national ID card. Some of the issuses raised by unrealid.com were, how do judges and law enforcement avoid getting killed if criminals get a hold the ID Card. Here's the actual bill that made it in. It's vague, but supposedly allows for a new system of tracking Americans. I want to hear the other side of this, and for someone to tell me that I'm jsut paranoid. One of my favorite Senators, Kennedy says:
"the so-called Real ID immigration provisions" are "highly controversial, harmful and unnecessary."It begs the question, why is this possible? How has our government system evolved into this. Senators are afriad to vote against it because that would mean voting against monotary aid to troops. It's insane that we allow this and force our ELECTED officials to vote in favor of something they don't believe in. I have a large enough problem with the hybrid republic we use. We're too lazy of a society to vote for ourselves, or to be informed. We have to have people do everything for us, which leads us to elect presidents, we didn't vote for. So now what! Let's move to New Zealand.
