I am a part time nerd, part time chef and full time whiner. Did I type whiner? I meant winner...no wait, I whine a lot. I've worked in High Tech and Television and a few places in between. I've eaten fire roasted snakes and hand fulls of peeps (not in the same sitting of course). I'd like to share my experiences, so read on.

Review: Burma Super Star

Type: Burmese Dining
URL: http://sanfrancisco.citysearch.com/profile/905558/

The jewel of Clement Street. I like a lot of places on Clement such as King of Thai #2, Village Pizza and that one joint across the street. But Burma Super Star is a gem. Complaints right off the bat: Long wait because everyone wants to eat there and there is little space. We waited almost an hour to get in. The way the place is set up is not conducive to parties larger than 2. There are these pillars in the room that break it up really bad, so if you have to seat more than 2 people, expect a wait. We went and got a drink across the street at the cafe. Anyway, on to the food. I had the:

Pumpkin stew with pork and jasmine rice with a thai tea.

This is a light stew with boiled pork and a squash that I can only guess is some form of pumpkin. I love this dish, it's very simple and delicious. And I always leave full. The price is usually around 15$ per person. Expect long lines because this place is in high demand. The wait staff when we were there was amazing. Fast, courteous and precise. Never a let down. This is a great place if you like classic chinese fast food too with things like sweet & sour chiken.
